3 Things We Learned From The Prem This Weekend – Oct. 20

Ronald Koeman is illuminati
Ok I don’t actually believe that. But the way Southampton have started the season, would you be surprised if just maybe he rolls with higher powers?

The Saints made Sunderland look like a Sunday league side. A Sunday league side that would feature 11 of me!

Koeman deserves this. He was unlucky at Valencia as just the “fall guy” for a broken, well unsustainable, system. And he was forgotten about in Holland.

They remember him now. And when he’s coaching Oranje and Southampton at the same time, I just hope the Saints continue to play as freely and entertaining as they have so far this season.

Southampton. Third in the table. At the end of October. Wow. Here’s something you already know: The Premier League is the best on the planet.

Sergio Aguero is the best striker in the Premier League

Go on, say it. “He missed a penalty Dunlop! You’re an idiot. You only watch hockey now!”

Untrue.

Ok yes he did miss one penalty on Saturday. But the rest of that hypothetical assumption is incorrect.

He is as good and as important to Man City as Luis Suarez was to Liverpool.

With 59 goals, Aguero has become Man City’s all time leading goal scorer. For a club as old and experienced, through more levels of football than their fans would like to admit, that’s prolific.

City still aren’t at Chelsea’s level, but if Aguero can manage a large miracle and stay healthy for at least 3/4 of the season, Citeh have a chance of getting there.

If your defense is shit, you better outscore your opposition

I know that sounds like a hotels.com commercial, but how else can one describe Man United?

Gerard Pique is linked with a return to Old Trafford. Getting a guy that isn’t good enough to hold his place at Barcelona might not be the answer. Jus saying.

This transition back to relevance was never going to be immediate. No team can go through the turnover LVG has overseen and reach sixth gear two months in. But with the firepower MANCHESTER UNITED have at their disposal, how the hell is it that they can’t even manage to outscore West Brom?!?!

I waited until after Monday’s match to write this blog because I thought I’d actually be able to write something positive about them!

Wait. I can. Marouane Fellaini wasn’t awful. On Monday.
